A CASED SCARCE .32 (RIMFIRE) BELT REVOLVER BY E.A. PRESCOTT, no visible serial number,
circa 1862, with octagonal 5 3/4in. barrel marked on the left hand side with maker's details and patents (rubbed), raised sighting rib of S&W style with crescent fore-sight, solid bronze frame (sideplate a possible replacement), plain six-shot cylinder, central hammer, spur trigger and smooth flared walnut grips (small historic losses to heel and toe-points), in a later walnut case with modern accessories

Provenance: One of the many infringements of the Rollin White patent for the bored through cylinder owned by Smith & Wesson, very few E.A Prescott revolvers were produced. Estimates put the total production for this and its smaller .22 stablemate at approximately 300 pieces only
